Understanding Mortgages Beyond the High Street

We were delighted to welcome Jewayne from Lansdown Place to this week’s Synergy Networking meeting, where he delivered an engaging and interactive presentation that challenged some common misconceptions about mortgages.

Through a fun quiz and plenty of practical insights, the session highlighted just how much there is to learn about the mortgage market and why expert advice can make all the difference.

Looking Beyond Traditional Mortgage Options

One of the key themes of the presentation was that mortgages are not a one-size-fits-all product. While many people naturally turn to high street banks, there are often a much wider range of lenders and solutions available depending on individual circumstances.

Jewayne explained how understanding the full market can help borrowers find products that are better suited to their needs, rather than relying solely on the limited options offered by a single lender.

Supporting Self-Employed Borrowers

A particularly valuable part of the presentation focused on self-employed mortgages.

Many business owners and freelancers assume securing a mortgage is far more difficult because of their employment status. However, we learned that specialist lenders often take a much broader view of an applicant’s financial circumstances than many high street banks, creating opportunities that borrowers may not even realise exist.

It was a useful reminder that seeking advice from an experienced mortgage professional can open doors that might otherwise seem closed.

An Insightful Session for Our Members

At Synergy Networking, we value presentations that leave our members with practical knowledge they can apply both personally and professionally, and Jewayne’s session certainly did just that.

A huge thank you to Jewayne and the team at Lansdown Place for sharing your expertise and helping us better understand the ever-changing world of mortgages.

If you’d like to be part of a supportive business community where members share knowledge, build meaningful connections, and help each other grow, we’d love to welcome you to a future Synergy Networking meeting.
