Shining a Light on Community of Purpose’s Break Free Programme

This Easter, Community of Purpose once again delivered something truly special for South Bristol’s young people through their Break Free programme.

 

Break Free is all about tackling holiday hunger and giving vulnerable children a chance to experience the joy, connection, and freedom that school holidays should bring. Thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers, supporters, and investors, hundreds of children across South Bristol enjoyed two full weeks packed with adventure, activities, and healthy meals.

 

School holidays can be an incredibly tough time for many families — especially when putting food on the table. Break Free makes a real difference, offering free meals and safe spaces where children can eat, play, make memories, and just be kids.

 

This year’s Easter programme was made possible through the incredible support from a wide range of partners, including Synergy businesses and organisations who believe in the power of community. Their collective efforts meant that children not only had two hot meals a day but also experienced new activities and built connections that would stay with them for years to come.

 

At the heart of Break Free is a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves a holiday full of hope, joy, and opportunity — no matter their circumstances.
